Comprehensive & Emergency Eye Care for Niagara
We are a comprehensive Optometry Clinic serving Welland and the Niagara Region. Modern comprehensive eye care is more than just glasses and contact lenses, Optometrists are the primary care doctor for all your visual needs. We are equipped and trained to diagnose and manage many eye conditions including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, ocular complications with medications, abnormal binocular vision issues, dry eye syndrome and computer vision syndrome to name a few.
Dr. Richard Saari graduated in 2003 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and returned to the Niagara Region to join the family practice. He began educating patients and the community about the importance of maintaining your eyesight. He has written extensively in the Welland Tribune (2004-2013), visited more than 200 ELKP classrooms and ELKP nights in the Private, Public and Catholic school boards, leads the Niagara Region Eye See… Eye Learn program, and participates in the EFN Glasses for Classes and NFCE vision programs. He was awarded the 2014 Ontario Association of Optometrists Public Education award for his work with the Eye See… Eye Learn program.
He is committed to treating your eyes just as he would his own family by providing a comprehensive eye examination that includes baseline retinal photography and optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging for all patients, where possible, during their initial assessment and children (5-18 years old) will have an axial length measurement to assess risk of myopia. We have a Certified Optometric Assistant to assist in all facets of the eye care visit.
We look forward to the opportunity to treat your family as we would treate one of our own and partnering with you to maintain your precious gift of sight. Start that journey by visiting our contact page to request an appointment or call the office to speak with our staff directly.
